Timeline
2011 — Cricket without Borders established by Clare Cannon
Our philosophy is “Be Bold, Show Sportsmanship, Have Fun, Make Friends”
First tour undertaken to England and Singapore.
Matches played at various venues including Eton College, Churchill College Cambridge and Wellington College. CWOB was the first international women’s team to ever play on the Hallowed playing fields of Eton College. The team also visited Lord’s Cricket Ground to see the Australian Women’s team play England.
Played at the famous Singapore Cricket Club and enjoyed an end of tour dinner here as well.

2012 — CWOB Travel to Singapore to compete in the Singapore Cricket Association Women’s International Cricket Challenge.
Competing teams – Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan and CWOB.

2013 — CWOB Tour to Darwin
CWOB undertook a week long tour to Darwin participating in training sessions with local school teams, clinics at primary schools, matches against NT Invitational Girls team and a boys team visiting from Sydney and also visited Batchelor Primary School at Litchfield National Park.

2014 — CWOB Participates in the Pepsi ICC East Asia Pacific Women’s Trophy in Sano, Japan
CWOB visited Sano and Akishima playing matches against Japan, PNG, the Cook Islands, Vanuatu and Samoa as part of this official ICC competition.

Following this tour CWOB entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Japan Cricket Association to explore a range of opportunities for the development of women’s cricket including an internship opportunity for CWOB players to visit Japan.
In October 2014 CWOB in conjunction with the Australia Himalaya Foundation and the Melbourne Cricket Club hosted a visit by the Queen Mother of Bhutan to the MCG where the Queen Mother witnessed and participated in a skills session with several young girls from around Victoria and also some local Bhutanese students. The Chair of CWOB Clare Cannon announced details of educational scholarship support for local Bhutanese girls during the afternoon.
2015 – CWOB visits Fiji
CWOB undertakes a weeklong tour to assist in the development of women’s cricket in Fiji and participate in community projects .
CWOB plays three T20 matches against the Fiji Women’s team , visits two local primary schools a children’s home ,enjoys afternoon tea at the Australian High Commission and visits Leluvia Island Resort for some R&R !

Spring 2015 – Alana King undertakes CWOB’s first internship with the Japan Cricket Association.
Winter 2015- Charlotte Killeen undertakes CWOB’s second internship with the Japan Cricket Association.
2016 – CWOB Invited to Play in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 East Asia Pacific Qualifier in Samoa.
Competing teams: CWOB, Japan, Samoa and PNG.
The tour included an opening ceremony at the Australian High Commission , a traditional closing ceremony at the Samoa Tradition Resort and also an impromptu game of netball between CWOB and the Samoan Under 19 Netball team.!

2017
Winter - Maddi Tobias undertakes Internship with Japan Cricket Association.
Winter – CWOB members participate in “Sleepout at the MCG” and raise approx. $4000 to assist
homeless people in Melbourne.
CWOB engages with the Primary Club ( a cricket organization that raises funds for people with disabilities to assist them lead a more fulfilling life through sport and recreation) to allow a CWOB player participate in their annual corporate cricket match at the MCG.
2018 – Hong Kong Women’s T20 International Competition
Following an invitation from the Kowloon cricket club CWOB travelled to Hong Kong to participate in a T20 competition against teams from the Hong Kong Cricket Club, Kowloon Cricket Club and Indonesia as well as undertake some community engagement activities with local primary school children.

Summer – Alice Johnston undertakes internship with Japan Cricket Association
2019 – Tour To Vanuatu
Following an invitation from Vanuatu Cricket CWOB visited Vanuatu in April 2019 for a series of matches against the national women’s team and participated in a number of community-based activities in local schools and villages.

Autumn- Jess Adams undertakes Internship with Japan Cricket Association.
2020 and 2021
Unfortunately due to the impact of the Covid pandemic CWOB has been unable to undertake any tours despite well advance plans for a tour to Malaysia in 2020 and to Darwin in July 2021 following an invitation from the Northern Territory Cricket Association to participate in their popular Junior Strike League that was cancelled four days prior to our departure due to a lockdown being imposed in Darwin.
