There is no doubt it has been a busy couple of months for a number of CWOB representatives past and present!
Alana King
Alana has been busy mixing her playing duties between the Prahran Cricket Club and the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). In between her playing and promotional commitments Alana has also been busy as an Ambassador for Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision ( www.mrv.org.au).! Alana was also recently a member of Prahran CC’s successful Women’s T20 First Eleven Premiership team.
Kirsty Lamb
Kirsty was one of CWOB’s foundation players in 2011 and has always been passionate about sport. Kirsty plays cricket for the Plenty Valley CC and the Melbourne Renegades in the WBBL and to top it off Kirsty has just represented the Western Bulldogs in the historic launch of the AFL Women’s Football League – congratulations Kirsty!
Zoe Quinsey-Munro
A dual tourist with CWOB Zoe has also been busy over the past couple of months playing for the Buchan CC and also competing in various athletic competitions. Zoe has shown her true versatility however by deciding she wouldn’t mind trying her hand at cricket umpiring! With special assistance from Richard Patterson at Cricket Victoria Zoe has developed her umpiring skills quickly and recently officiated in Cricket Victoria’s Under 14 State Championships. Zoe was also recently awarded the East Gippsland Shire’s Australia Day Junior Citizen of the Year Award following a presentation she made last year to the Orbost Rotary Club about her experiences touring Samoa with CWOB in July last year.
Nicole Faltum
It has been a whirlwind 2016/17 cricket season for Nicole who toured with CWOB to Fiji in 2015. Apart from her club commitments with the Dandenong CC, Nicole represented Victoria in the U18 National Championships, was selected in the Championships team of the Carnival and then was offered a rookie contract with the Melbourne Renegades!
Georgia Kerr
A tourist to Fiji ( 2015) and Samoa (2016) Georgia obviously has a love for the Pacific region and also her cricket !. Georgia made her debut for the Prahran CC Women’s 1sT Eleven during the current season and has also represented Victoria in the National U18 Championships.
More recently Georgia was a member of Prahran CC’s Women’s T20 1st Eleven premiership alongside Alana King.
Chelsea Moscript
Chelsea has been a regular tourist with CWOB for a number of years and has been a willing contributor on all tours which include to Japan, Fiji and Samoa. Last year Chelsea also undertook an internship with Cricket Japan. During the 2016/17 season Chelsea has continued to represent the Dandenong CC with aplomb but was also chosen to represent Victoria in January at the Australian Country Cricket Championships (Women’s Section) in Wollongong along with another former CWOB representative in Laura Croft. Following some outstanding performances Chelsea was selected in the Australian team chosen at the conclusion of the carnival.
Lewis Keane
We first met Lewis in Fiji in 2015 when he was working for Cricket Fiji through a sports diplomacy program with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). So impressed was CWOB Chair Cannon with Lewis’s ability she said “come and work with me young man” and he did as our Operations Manager on our 2016 tour to Samoa where his passion for the Pacific region shone through and he was an invaluable member of our touring party.
Lewis is currently studying his PhD at Sydney University but the call from the Pacific region has again come and Lewis has recently secured a placement in Tonga through DFAT as a Health Promotions Advisor on a program that aims to use sport to address health and social issues.
